Central High School staff is continuously growing in faculty. Recently, Central High added their newest member to the staff, Ms. Donna Rast.

Rast, who is a former CDC Educational Assistant at Central,  has become the new bookkeeper after Mrs. Tammy Cimino, the previous bookkeeper, sadly passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

“I became a bookkeeper because I enjoy working in finance and high school bookkeeping is one of the less stressful jobs in finance,” explained Rast.

Rast believes that bookkeeping is necessary because it is a important central role for business and schools.

Prior to her time at Central High School, Rast worked in Investment Finance in Unum, a Tennessee-based insurance company.

“Switching from being an Educational Assistant to a bookkeeper has been a smooth transition, I used to go to school here so it is easy for me to get around and I am very comfortable with how easy it has been switching from my last job.” shared Rast.

Many people do not realize the responsibilities that bookkeepers have to perform. Rast explained that she has to keep track of money that the school gets, reconcile invoices, collect lots of data, take some phone calls and prepare forms as needed.

“There are a lot of responsibilities that book keepers have to take up for and sometimes it is not easy, but I am able to deal with it. Being here at Central has been great and I am always glad to help out.”

“She is doing an excellent job and is very competent, she is in charge of making sure we go through correct procedures and make checks,” stated Central High Principal Mr. Finley King

The job requires lots of organizing and the bookkeeper has to write a lot of checks. According to Mr. King, the job is difficult and requires a very responsible person to take on the job.

Central High School is thrilled to see Rast take over the position, and look forward to watching her succeed!
