The Central Digest is trying to get national recognition for the online newspaper.

In order to get recognition from the state that recognizes The Central Digest as a unique website, we must earn six multimedia badges.

There are six badges available, four of which the digest has received already. These badges are the multimedia badge, the Site Excellence Badge, the Story Page Excellence Badge, and the Continuous Coverage Badge. The Central Digest staff members are currently trying to get the Audience Engagement Badge, the fifth out of the six badges we are trying to earn.

In order to earn the Audience Engagement Badge, we must reach 1,000 followers on two of our social media accounts, Facebook and Twitter. As of now, we have 390 followers on Facebook, and 414 on Twitter.

“We are really trying to get new followers and would appreciate if everyone followed us,” stated Central Digest Assistant Editor Preston Fore.

Follow the Central Digest so you can remain informed about the current news of what happens at Central. Many of the badges we have earned so far have to deal with our stories being informative, up to date, intriguing, and thought-provoking. Our stories focus on the big news around Central High School each week.

“It’s a really big deal because no one in Tennessee has ever gotten this award and the Central Digest has worked really hard,” Mr. Cantrell explains why Central Digest deserves this badge. Please help us and follow us on twitter @Central_Digest and on Facebook @The Central Digest.
