‘Nothing Bundt Cakes’ Sponsors the Central Choir’s Latest Fundraiser
February 12, 2019
As Valentine’s Day approaches, many people are looking for ways to celebrate, or show their appreciation for the people around them. Thanks to the sponsors of their latest fundraiser, Nothing Bundt Cakes, the Central Choir has been able to sell cakes to ensure that teachers have a sweet treat for Valentine’s Day. Sadly, orders were due on Monday, February 4, so cakes are no longer available for purchase. Only the teachers who have already placed their cake orders will receive them. Choir students will be delivering the cakes to all the teachers who participated in the fundraiser on February 12 and 13.
“We are using the funds raised to help buy a new piano dolly, pay for piano tuning, buy new music, and hopefully have bus fees to go on some field trips to sing at local middle schools,” explained Katheron Latham, Central’s choir director.
The prices of the cakes ranged from $5 for a personal sized cake to $35 for a large cake. The desserts were available in all flavors, except snickerdoodle. They all include cream cheese icing. The cakes will be baked to order at the local Nothing Bundt Cakes store located on Shallowford Road.
The main reason for the fundraiser was to help provide funds for the choir’s future plans. The Central Choir does not have sufficient funds to organize all of the events that they have planned, so the fundraiser was started to help them accomplish most of their goals.
“I think its was a good idea that went really well and I’m proud of the choir for raising as much as we did,” voiced sophomore choir member Anthony Veteto.
The fundraiser was a great way to raise money for the Choir. Teachers will enjoy a wonderful treat while simultaneously raising donations for their students. The money that they have raised will most certainly go towards whatever supplies they will need. Latham has also alluded to another choir fundraiser that may begin later in April.
