Throughout the years, Central High School has been home to many talented musicians, doctors, and even business professionals. Brent Goldberg, a graduate of the class of 1995, is no exception. As the current Chief Business Officer, Christie Jordan, prepares for retirement, Goldberg continues to anticipate his new position in the coming school year.

Currently, Goldberg is working alongside Jordan before her retirement at the commencement of the 2018-19 academic year. Goldberg has always been involved in education, and is excited to see where this next chapter takes him.

“I have been around the school system for the past ten years, being involved at Normal Park for nine,” commended Goldberg, “I served as the CFO of the Public Education Foundation, worked with the creation of the Chattanooga STEM School, and have served as president of the PTA at Normal Park.”

Alongside being involved with education, Goldberg has worked in the financial field for the City of Chattanooga. Goldberg believes that that this experience will benefit him in the position of CBO.

“Having the background of working for the City of Chattanooga Mayor’s office, I feel that the positions are similar,” stated Goldberg.

While at Central High School, Goldberg was involved in soccer and served as editor of the Champion yearbook. Goldberg states that some of his best memories in high school included soccer, the Champion Yearbook, and meetings in the agora.

“When I was a senior at Central, nine of the eleven soccer starters were seniors,” elucidated Goldberg. “Being on the yearbook staff and serving as yearbook editor allowed me to view different perspectives of the school. Also, meeting up with friends in the agora was always cool.”

Goldberg hopes that current students at Central have fun during their high school career, but also recognize the importance of high school.

“Having fun is important, but I do believe treating [high school] as preparation for college or career is very important,” concluded Goldberg.
