On Monday, November 30, Central’s boys’ basketball team played East Ridge High. The team has had high hopes for this season based on their success from last year, and they have yet to let anyone down. With an overall record of 3-0 before heading onto the court Monday night, the boys had big intentions of another win.

“I felt like the whole school was expecting us to win [and] go all the way to the state finals like last year,” stated senior Ryan Montgomery.

Central won with a final score of 76-54 and now holds an undefeated record of 4-0.

“Our gym still had some empty seats, and I was shocked to see that, but I felt like we put on an exciting show,” explained Coach Rick Rogers.

Central’s entire basketball team knows that they have to stay focused for the rest of the season and that it is vital for them to stick together.

“We are doing good so far – you just have to take it one game at a time in order to get better every day,” noted Montgomery.

The East Ridge game was a success, but the boys must now get ready for Friday’s game against the Red Bank Lions. This will be the biggest game of their season so far. Red Bank will not be going out easy, and neither will Central.

“Only one team will win on Friday. We are ready for Red Bank – we are both undefeated, but they will be leaving dejected after the game for sure,” avowed Rogers.
