Central’s Volleyball Team is Ecstatic About Getting a New Coach
April 12, 2016
Central High School welcomes Jeremy Rogers as the new head volleyball coach and the team could not be more exhilarated about starting the season next year.
“I am very nervous and thrilled to meet our new coach. I hope he can drive us towards more victories,” expressed Kerri Sylvester, sophomore volleyball player.
“The coach needs to have [the] initiative and the drive to be able to take us towards [a] victory [for] every game we have. I love volleyball very much, so I am hoping that the coach will love it just as much as me, and all the other girls so we can all be a family and appreciate each-other to the fullest ability.”
Although Rogers is new to Central, this is not his first time coaching. He worked at Bradley Central for two years as the head junior varsity and freshman volleyball coach. He also was the assistant coach for their varsity team. After taking a year off from working, Rogers wanted to find a new job, somewhere really fulfilling.
Everyone who has met Rogers thinks he will be an exquisite volleyball coach and bring the Lady Pounders to the top. Central’s faculty is excited to have a new member this next school year.
“Mr. Rogers is a very good volleyball coach and ref. I think he will be an amazing addition to our school,” stated Mr. Steve Lewis, one of Central’s assistant principals.
Rogers is equally enthusiastic about the start of the new season.
“I’m looking forward to meeting them and starting to work on conditions and getting ready for next season. I think we are going to have a great year and I am going to take the team to the championship and I intend on winning it too,” expressed Rogers.
The Central Digest is rooting for both Rogers and the Lady Pounders volleyball team as they strive towards a successful season next year.
