BOYS BASKETBALL WIN THEIR FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON AGAINST LOOKOUT VALLEY — Tiawun Bell fighting to keep the ball

Boys Basketball has had a pretty successful start to their season.

On Monday, November 15th, the guys played at Lookout Valley and won this game 84-12. During this game there was great effort, energy, excitement. Sophmore Matthew Sharp was a lead during this game, scoring 17 points.

“This was more of a one sided game. We were more athletic and further along than the other team was,” Shared Coach Kantonio Davis.

On Thursday, November 18th, they had their first tournament. They played McCallie and lost 55-21, and then played Silverdale and lost 74-49.

From November 22nd to November 24th, they played in the Silverdale Thanksgiving Tournament. First, they played CSAS and lost with a score of 67-38. Next, they took another loss against Silverdale with a score of 71-61; this game was a lot closer than the first game they played against Silverdale.  Lastly, they played Walker Valley and also lost this game 68-47.

On Monday, November 29th, the team played at home against Notre Dame. They took a hard loss with an ending score of 67-44. This game had a slow start, being down 15 points at the end of the first quarter. They struggled the rest of the game to get out of the hole from the 1st quarter. Matthew Sharpe lead the team scoring 22 points.

“The game went alright. I feel like last week we were on a good track as a team, but during this game we went a little backward. However, I personally feel like I’m gaining more confidence out on the court,” shared Sharpe.

On Friday, December 3rd, they played at Red Bank. They lost this game with a final score of 67-50.

On Monday, December 6th, the boys lost against Ooltewah with a score of 85-64

“The team is still trying to figure out how to play their games consistently,” shared Coach Davis about how he felt the boys have been playing.
