Lady Pounders Add Victory Against District Rival Red Bank

LADY POUNDERS ADD A VICTORY AGAINST RED BANK LIONS TO THE BOOKS- Janaye Parker dribbling the ball down the court.

The Central Lady Pounders played against the Red Bank Lions on Tuesday, January 18. The team won with the final score of 31-23. The win was a great confidence booster for the team. Even with the team dropping the last few games, the team held their heads high and beat Red Bank High School. The team then played East Ridge on Friday, January 21. Although the team lost against the Lady Pioneers, the Lady Pounders played their best and were optimistic with their performance.

Sophomore Haiden Harness shared, “The Red Bank game was a strong game for the team. This has impacted us [the team] to turn up the intensity on the court and give the game our all.”

Central continues to play well and finish out the season strong. The game against Red Bank was a great win for the team. The Lady Pounders came into the game confident. With the team playing their best, and pushing hard throughout the game, Central won in the end with the final score of 31-23.

“I feel as though I have improved in myself to start driving more with a shot,” stated Harness, as she reflects back on her skills at the beginning of the season.

With the basketball season coming to an end, the Lady Pounders are happy with their growth as a team and are looking forward to the district tournament.
