The A.O.K’s Sweep the Halls of Central
March 16, 2016
There is a revolution beginning here at Central High School and it is all starting in John Daum’s classroom. Daum’s third period class is World Religions and inside that classroom, the students have noticed that our school needs a drastic change, and soon. Central has had an issue with trash in the parking lot and or around the building, missing bricks in the walls, holes in the ceiling, and greenery dying. The students in Daum’s class desperately want a change and for Central to be an amazing school for all of its students and staff. Daum and his students have created a revolutionary group called the A.O.K’s, which stands for Acts of Kindness. The A.O.K’s have already been cleaning up the school for the past couple of weeks. They are soon going to meet with Mr. King to explain other issues regarding Central.
“The reason this group was formed was to help clean up the school; trash and attitude wise,” expressed sophomore, Skylaur Sivley. “I am in charge of making one of the power points for the A.O.K’s to show Mr.King and explain to him the problems in our school.”
“The A.O.K’s have been an ongoing thought in my mind for awhile. I have wanted the school to be a better, more spacious area for the students and staff to be in. The A.O.K’s stand for, Act Of Kindness. If you commit an act of kindness and throw away trash when you see it, or just give someone a compliment when they need it, you can change the school’s attitude,” expressed Daum, Central teacher and head of the A.O.K. “I really hope Mr.King will like our idea of the A.O.K. so we can make this school a better learning zone.”
“This group is all about making Central an amazing school and making students want to come to school everyday and enjoy their experience,” Sivley added.
If you have any pictures of trash that you have taken or if you have a complaint about Central, send it to ProjectRevolution0217@gmail.com and they will gladly use those pictures for upcoming projects they are working on and they plan to listen to your complaints and try their best to fix them around the school.
