Pounder Profile: Senior Lineman Demetrio Dominguez
November 4, 2021
The Pounders football team finished up the 2021 regular season with a 6-2 overall record and a 5-1 region mark — their best regular season performance since the 2003 season. Now, after a bye week, the Purple and Gold are preparing to travel to Lafayette, Tennessee, to face off with the Macon County Tigers.
Part of that success can be attributed to the cornerstone of the Pounders offense: senior Demetrio Dominguez. Demetrio is a four year starter and is a three time All-Region lineman. Head Football Coach Curt Jones had high praise for the captain.
“He is the heart and soul of our offensive line,” Jones said. “Without him on the O-Line we would be lost.”
In addition to his hard work on the field, Dominguez maintains a 3.8 GPA and volunteers with the elderly when possible.
The Digest sat down with Demetrio to get a glimpse into his life on and off the field. Central High School athletes dedicate an immense amount of time and energy to their respective sports, so it is only right for the community to get a look inside what makes Central athletics so special.
