The RPG club is hosted by english teacher Kevin Parsons and is one of the first clubs here at central starting spring of 2022 making this its fourth semester being available.
RPG stands for role-playing game, and here at central it’s students getting a bit deeper into a modern game and having a bit more fun. Assuming a character and making it their own, in their own world with others.
Parsons said, “I had a conversation with a couple of students back in 21/22 about after school RPG Clubs. This led to us making plans for turning Advisories into a club period.”
Ever since then, the RPG club has been one of the biggest clubs here at central in such a short time having a full capacity at 24 students with more wishing to enter.
Parsons said, “I would like to add a second sponsor so that we don’t have to turn students away. I don’t think we should ever limit access to a program designed to reward students,” as he had to turn away several students to meet capacity. He added, “I would like to hear from the student body about their needs; the goal of the clubs should be to create spaces where students feel that their interests and social-emotional needs are being met.”
